Thank you very much for posting this edition !!! Cruz-Romo is an excellent singer, even though her "pianos" and "pianissimos" don't compare with Caballè's. Pavarotti's silvery timbre suits well the character: in the last act more dramatic involvment would have been desirable (in the last act no tenor can stand comparison with Lauri-Volpi, even though he recorded the opera when he was 60). Manuguerra is amazing, both vocally and interpretively: a truly unforgettable singer. Maag's conducting is refined and shows a great variety of dynamics and colors.
