  1. Thank you very much for this ! Bruscantini was a pupil of Luigi Ricci, who had been piano accompanist of baritone Antonio Cotogni when the latter was singing teacher in the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia in Rome. Bruscantini's bass-baritone voice was not a big one, but it was exceptionally well produced. His taste was impeccable and he was without doubt one of the most stilish singers of the 20th Century. His repertoire included 108 roles, and he was outstanding as a Mozart and Rossini singer, but often sang with great success also serious roles like Giorgio Germont. I am sure that his Dandini, his Don Pasquale and his Mustafà (Italiana in Algeri) will never be surpassed.
